Nine Delaware Registered Agent Services, Priced for 2026

Dependable registered agent service throughout Delaware — $99 annually. That fee covers the office address, scanning of legal correspondence, and reminders for state filings.

Delaware cityscape

Delaware is the busiest incorporation jurisdiction in the country, and the agent industry serving it is crowded with rankings that exist to harvest referral fees. This one carries a different conflict, stated at the top: the page is published by Delaware Registered Agent.ai, which also holds the first position in the ranking below. Discount our self-assessment as much as you think fair. The prices need no discounting: every number below is the rate its vendor advertises, checked by us in July 2026, not excepting the $90 that undercuts ours.

Three Tests Before the Table

Positions were assigned by running every vendor through the same screen. First, whether the true renewal price is published where a buyer can actually find it. Second, whether year two costs what year one led you to expect. Third, what the fee includes once it is paid. Flat, published, all-inclusive pricing climbs; teaser years, renewal jumps, quarterly billing units, and withheld numbers sink.

Rank 1: Delaware Registered Agent.ai

Our own service, so apply the discount promised in the opening paragraph. The offer is one number: $99 per year, and the renewal invoice reads $99 as well, indefinitely. Anything a process server delivers to our Delaware office is scanned and in your inbox the same day. Deadline reminders go out ahead of the state's filing dates rather than after them. No tier sits above the plan and no bundle beside it; the single surcharge, $15 per item to scan mail that falls outside legal process, is printed before you buy. The state's public records carry our address in place of yours.

One claim we decline to make is cheapest. On advertised price alone, the title of cheapest registered agent service in Delaware belongs to BetterLegal, two rows down at $90. Ours is one of the lowest flat annual rates in Delaware, arriving with same-day scanning and a renewal that holds still.

Rank 2: Northwest Registered Agent

Northwest earns the runner-up position on transparency. Every number is public: formation customers get the first year free, then $125 annually, or $100 per state annually once five or more states are involved. The support desk is human and the privacy posture is consistent, with nothing in their checkout trying to sell you sideways. Against our flat $99, the higher renewal is the difference, and it is the only material one.

Rank 3: BetterLegal

At $90 per year, BetterLegal publishes the lowest renewal on this sheet, and a ranking that respects price has to respect that. It stops at third because the first-year billing terms could not be verified from their materials, and unverified terms cap how high a vendor climbs here. Budget the $90, then confirm the particulars at their checkout before you commit.

Rank 4: Rocket Lawyer

Rocket Lawyer holds at $125 per year across every membership tier, with no introductory discount located, and price stability of that kind is rarer in this market than it should be. The agent function sits inside a broad legal subscription. Subscribers who also want contract templates and attorney access get real value; agent-only buyers finance features they will never open.

Rank 5: ZenBusiness

ZenBusiness ships the strongest software experience in the field, which is an honest advantage. The pricing splits in two: the standalone first year is advertised at $99 plus state fees, and the renewal arrives at $199 per year. Evaluate the platform at $199, since that is the recurring figure. If the dashboard is worth the premium to you, it is a defensible purchase.

Rank 6: Bizee (formerly Incfile)

Bizee leads with its formation packages, which tuck in free agent service for anywhere between three and twelve months based on the tier. Standalone, the renewal runs $149 per year. The bundle holds genuine value on formation day; the cost surfaces later, when a mid-pack $149 starts billing on a calendar you have stopped watching.

Rank 7: LegalZoom

LegalZoom sells the industry's most recognized name at its highest flat rate: $249 per year, auto-renewing, with no first-year discount found. The underlying deliverable, a Delaware address that accepts service, does not differ from what the cheaper rows provide. The premium buys brand comfort, which is worth something, though not to everyone.

Rank 8: Swyft Filings

Swyft Filings quotes $149 on a quarterly cycle, which compounds to roughly $596 a year, and no separate first-year discount surfaced in our check. Placed beside eight annual quotes, a quarterly figure reads like a bargain while performing as the most expensive line on the sheet. The billing unit, not the service, earns the eighth position.

Rank 9: Inc Authority

Inc Authority offers the first year at $0 and publishes no renewal price at all: not on the homepage, not in the FAQ, not on the premium package pages. The figure evidently exists somewhere, revealed at checkout or by phone, but a recurring charge that cannot be inspected in advance fails this page's first test outright. The free year does not offset that. Ninth.

Who May Hold the Appointment Under 6 Del. C. § 18-104

Delaware defines the eligible field in 6 Del. C. § 18-104: a Delaware resident individual, a qualifying domestic entity, a foreign entity authorized to transact business in the state, or, unusually, the LLC itself. Delaware is among the very few jurisdictions where a company may lawfully act as its own registered agent, so a do-it-yourself route exists here that most states flatly prohibit.

What the statute gives, its conditions take back for most filers. The registered office has to sit at a physical street address in Delaware, the agent's place of business has to be that same address, and § 18-104(e) disqualifies any agent operating solely through a virtual office or mail-forwarding arrangement; an entity agent must keep a generally open Delaware office, and an individual must be generally present. Most Delaware entities are managed from other states precisely because Delaware demands no local operations, and those companies cannot satisfy the presence rule without renting and staffing an office. That, more than any vendor's marketing, is why this market exists.

The $50 Certificate That Ends an Agent Relationship

Replacing a registered agent is a Division of Corporations filing, and Delaware maintains a specifically captioned form for it: the Certificate of Amendment Changing Only the Registered Office/Agent of Limited Liability Company. Section 18-1105(a)(11) prices that exact caption at $50, while the same substantive change embedded in a general certificate of amendment bills at $180, so the inexpensive exit depends on filing the narrow instrument rather than the broad one. Read every teaser offer in the sheet against that $50: a free first year stays free only if the renewal never makes you pay to leave.

No Report to File, One Tax to Miss: June 1

Ready when you are. Ordering takes about five minutes.

Order Here

A Delaware LLC files no annual report. Its single recurring state obligation is the flat annual tax collected by the Division of Corporations' Franchise Tax Section, long set at $300 and raised by HB 400 to $400 starting with tax year 2026, due on or before June 1. The absence of a report cuts both ways: nothing to fill out, and equally nothing that naturally reminds you the date is approaching. Delinquency is priced aggressively, with a $200 penalty plus 1.5 percent monthly interest running on tax and penalty together, and sustained nonpayment ends in lost good standing and eventual cancellation of the company. The tax can be remitted through the entity's registered agent, and Delaware agents routinely handle exactly that. It makes the reminder calendar the least glamorous and most valuable feature compared on this page: whichever vendor you select, select one that treats June 1 as its own deadline.

Closing the File

All nine vendors clear the statutory bar, so the differences live in price and conduct. Buyers who want the biggest brand can pay $249 for it, and buyers who want the smallest printed number can pay $90. Buyers who want a $99 rate that repeats on every renewal, same-day delivery of anything a process server brings, and a reminder ahead of each June 1 already know which row was built for them.
