When the Agent Is the Only Line Item You Want

Dependable registered agent service throughout Delaware — $99 annually. That fee covers the office address, scanning of legal correspondence, and reminders for state filings.

Delaware cityscape

Interested party writing about a competitor: Delaware Registered Agent.ai sells Delaware registered agent service for $99 a year, and this page exists to win that sale. The Rocket Lawyer pricing quoted below is theirs, taken from published materials in July 2026. Judge the numbers on their own and the commentary at whatever discount you consider fair.

A Price That Does Not Move

Rocket Lawyer lists registered agent service at $125 annually, and that figure holds at every membership level. There is no entry rate that lapses into a larger one, and we found no promotional first year. In a category where the second invoice routinely exceeds the first, a vendor whose number stays put has earned the acknowledgement.

The service is also one component of a wide legal subscription: document templates, contract review tools, attorney consultations, a library of forms. For a business that will genuinely draw on those resources, the agent line is close to incidental and the whole package should be judged together.

The Scope Question

Everything turns on whether you came here for a platform.

Delaware asks one thing of your company on this subject: that an eligible party with a real in-state office is on record to accept service of process. Meeting that requirement is a narrow task. Any competent vendor performs it the same way, and the state applies no quality standard beyond eligibility and reachability.

A buyer who wants only that is paying $125 for the requirement and financing a legal library alongside it. The excess over $99 is $26 a year, which is small, entirely predictable, and spent on capability that will never be opened. Whether that matters is a judgment about your own use, not about Rocket Lawyer.

The Delaware Date Nobody Mails You a Reminder About

There is one recurring obligation a Delaware LLC cannot delegate to inattention, and it has an unusual shape. The state requires no annual report from an LLC at all. What it requires is a flat annual tax, historically $300 and raised to $400 for tax year 2026 by HB 400, payable to the Division of Corporations on or before June 1.

Having no report to file sounds like a simplification, and administratively it is. The hazard is that nothing arrives in the post asking to be completed, so the deadline has no natural prompt attached to it. The amount is also flat and is not reduced for a company that existed only part of the year, so a December formation owes the same as a January one.

The penalty structure gives the date its teeth. Falling past June 1 adds $200, then interest accumulates at 1.5 percent a month on the tax and the penalty together, and a company that keeps ignoring it loses good standing and is eventually cancelled. Against that, the reminder feature of any agent service stops being a marketing bullet and starts being the cheapest risk control in the file.

What Our Fee Covers

A flat $99 a year, the same on renewal, with no tier above it and no bundle beside it. When a process server reaches our Delaware office, the document is scanned and dispatched to you within the same business day. Deadline alerts precede the state's dates instead of following them. Our Delaware street address appears on the public filing in place of yours. A single optional charge exists, $15 per item for scanning routine business mail that is not legal process, and we print it here so it never arrives as a surprise.

We stop short of cheapest. BetterLegal's published $90 is less than our $99, so the accurate phrasing is that $99 sits among the lowest rates available in Delaware rather than beneath every one of them.

Rocket Lawyer Out, Delaware Record Updated

Condensed: Delaware charges $50 for an amendment captioned only for a registered office or agent change, filed with the Division of Corporations, and the general amendment version of the same change costs $180 instead. Engage us before the certificate goes in, since it has to name a successor, and keep Rocket Lawyer in place until the state's record reflects the swap. Retaining them for the extra week costs a fraction of a year's fee; a gap in coverage can cost a default judgment. Our change of agent walkthrough has the form, the fee and the confirmation step.
